Compliance & Standards
We hold ourselves to the highest standards in the industry — not because a certificate requires it, but because responsible recycling demands it. R2v3 and NIST 800-88 aligned processes, with independent vetting of every downstream partner.
How We Operate
Our approach to compliance is built on internal discipline, not paperwork. We follow industry-leading standards because we believe they represent the right way to work — and we enforce them throughout our entire supply chain.
R2v3 Process Alignment
Responsible Recycling standard
Our operations are built around the R2v3 framework — the leading standard for responsible electronics recycling — guiding how we handle, process, and track every device.
NIST 800-88 Data Sanitization
Guidelines for Media Sanitization
Every storage device we process is sanitized according to NIST SP 800-88 guidelines, the recognized benchmark for thorough and verifiable data destruction.
Independent Partner Vetting
Rigorous downstream due diligence
We independently research and vet every downstream recycling and refurbishment partner before we ever send materials their way — no rubber-stamping, no shortcuts.
Zero-Landfill Commitment
Responsible end-of-life for every device
Every piece of equipment that comes through our facility is recycled, refurbished, or responsibly processed. Nothing we accept ends up in a landfill.
Independent Downstream Partner Vetting
The weakest link in any recycling program is an unvetted downstream partner. We eliminate that risk by independently qualifying every partner we work with — before materials ever leave our hands.
Due Diligence Review
We research each prospective partner's facilities, operating history, compliance posture, and environmental track record before any engagement begins.
Documentation & Chain of Custody
We require complete, verifiable documentation of how materials are handled from the moment they leave our facility through final processing.
Ongoing Monitoring
Partner relationships are not set-and-forget. We continuously monitor for changes in practices, incidents, or deviations from the standards we require.
Immediate Action on Concerns
Any partner who fails to meet our standards is removed from our network without exception. Our clients' trust and environmental responsibility always come first.
Why independent vetting matters
Many recyclers rely on third-party certifications as a proxy for partner quality. We go further — we do our own research. A certificate doesn't tell you what actually happens to a hard drive or a motherboard at the end of the line. Our direct due diligence does.
This means more work for us and more accountability in our supply chain. We think that's exactly the right trade-off.
Our Process Standards
The specific practices we follow across data destruction, environmental handling, and partner management
Data Destruction
- NIST SP 800-88 media sanitization guidelines
- Documented, verifiable wipe processes for every device
- Certificate of data destruction provided for each job
- Full chain of custody from pickup through final disposition
- 7+ year record retention for all processing documentation
Environmental Practices
- R2v3-aligned handling and processing workflows
- Zero-landfill commitment across all materials
- Responsible downstream routing for every material stream
- Hazardous material handling per applicable regulations
- EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) alignment
Partner Standards
- Independent vetting of every downstream partner
- Documented partner qualification process
- Ongoing partner performance monitoring
- Immediate removal of non-compliant partners
- Transparent reporting on material destinations
Supporting the EPA's Mission
We are proud to support the Environmental Protection Agency's mission to address the international e-waste problem. Our practices align with the EPA's National Strategy for Electronics Stewardship (NSES), which promotes:
- Building incentives for design of greener electronics
- Increasing safe and effective management of used electronics
- Reducing harm from US exports of e-waste and improving handling abroad
Our Zero-Landfill Pledge
Work With a Recycler That Holds Itself Accountable
No shortcuts, no rubber-stamped partners. Just responsible recycling done right.
